Day 1 Darwin/Kakadu National Park: After an early morning departure from Darwin the fun begins with the famous Jumping Crocodile Cruise, where your local guide lures crocodiles from the water, so keep your camera at the ready. Continue by road to Kakadu National park and on arrival, see ancient Aboriginal rock art and take a guidedwalk to the top of Ubirr for magnificent views.
Day 2 Kakadu National Park/Katherine: Begin with a guided walk at Nourlangie Rock to view the sacred rock art galleries before visiting Warradjan Cultural Centre which has informative displays depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people in Kakadu. Later enjoy a cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong, watching carefully for saltwater crocodiles and the colourful range of birdlife. Return to your coach and travel via Pine Creek to Katherine.
Day 3 Katherine/Darwin: This morning cruise through stunning Katherine Gorge where the scenery is absolutely mesmerising. If you can drag your eyes away from the landscape, watch out for crocodiles basking in the sun at the side of the river. Gain cultural insights at Nitmiluk Visitor Centre before travelling to Edith Falls, where the paperbark and pandanus-fringed natural pool at the base of the falls is safe for swimming most of the year (conditions permitting). Stop at the poignant Adelaide River War Cemetery en route to Darwin.
Day 4 Darwin: Litchfield National Park is the destination today and your first stop is Florence Falls, where you can take a scenic bush and monsoon vine forest walk. After a swim in its pristine plunge pool, travel on to Tolmer Falls for a stunning view of the water cascading down to the deep waterhole below. Next up is Wangi Falls, another relaxing spot for a swim, before visiting Howard Springs Nature Park, for the opportunity to feed barramundi and turtles. Return to Darwin where your tour concludes.
