Day 1: Fly to Perth.
Day 2 Perth: On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, why not take stroll in King’s Park or along the Swan River This evening, meet fellow travellers at a welcome dinner.
Day 3 Perth/Hyden: Journey through the Golden Outback to Boddington, the site of Australia’s largest gold mine. Continue to Wave Rock, a magnificent rock formation formed over three million years ago.
Day 4 Hyden/Kalgoorlie: This morning, take an exclusive farm tour to learn about life in the Outback, with the chance to feed cattle. Continue to Kalgoorlie for spectacular views over the famous Super Pit open-cut gold mine and an orientation tour of this historic town.
Day 5 Kalgoorlie/Esperance: Visit Cape Le Grand National Park with its wild coastal scenery, rugged granite peaks, sweeping heathlands and white sand beaches. At stunning Lucky Bay, you may see some of the local grey kangaroos that like to laze on the pristine beach.
Day 6 Esperance/Albany: Travel on through Ravensthorpe and the unique Fitzgerald Biosphere to Bluff Knoll Lookout, where you view the rugged beauty of the Stirling Ranges National Park. Continue to Albany, a town imbued with Anzac history.
Day 7 Albany: A free day to explore seaside Albany, which boasts many fine heritage-listed buildings. We recommend visiting the acclaimed National Anzac Centre or perhaps explore the region and discover wine and locally-produced food.
Day 8 Albany/Margaret River: Visit the Valley of the Giants to explore the canopy of the Tingle forest along the beautiful Tree Top Walk. This afternoon, visit Cape Leeuwin lighthouse precinct where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. Continue to Margaret River, one of Australia’s premier wine-growing regions. Beaches and surf breaks line the nearby coast, whose waters host migratory whales (June-November).
Day 9 Margaret River: A day sure to delight your taste buds! Begin at Vasse Virgin to learn about all things olive oil and then onwards to a local winery for tastings and a lunch prepared from fresh local produce. This afternoon is free to relax of further explore Margaret River.
Day 10 Margaret River/Fremantle: Travel to the coastal town of Busselton to visit the historic wooden jetty, the longest in the southern hemisphere. Travel further up the coastline to the port city of Fremantle where the afternoon is free to explore. You may like to visit the colourful stalls of Fremantle Markets where you can purchase local arts & crafts or taste local delights.
Day 11 Fremantle: At leisure to sightsee as you choose. Perhaps wander along the Fremantle foreshore to see the impressive fishing fleet, enjoy a refreshing ale at Little Creatures Brewery, or take the ferry to Rottnest Island (additional expense).
Day 12 Fremantle/Geraldton: Travel north along the coast, stopping in Yanchep National Park for an Aboriginal cultural experience. Continue to the seaside hamlet of Lancelin and then to Nambung National Park, home of the marvellous Pinnacles. Today’s final stop is Geraldton, where on arrival you’ll visit the evocative HMAS Sydney Memorial.
Day 13 Geraldton/Monkey Mia: Travel north through Denham and the UNESCO World Heritage Shark Bay before arriving in Monkey Mia. The rest of the day is at leisure, so you may like to take an optional scenic flight over Shark Bay Marine Park or a wildlife cruise (both additional expense).
Day 14 Monkey Mia/Kalbarri: Rise early to see Monkey Mia’s wild dolphins which regularly swim close to shore. Travel on to Shell Beach and then Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of Stromatolites. Next up, Kalbarri National Park to view the sublime scenery of Murchison River Gorge.
Day 15 Kalbarri/Perth: Drive back to Perth, passing Hutt Lagoon, one of the famous Pink Lakes in Western Australia. This evening bid farewell to new friends over dinner.
Day 16 Perth: Morning transfer to the airport where your tour ends.
