Day 1 Auckland: On arrival at Auckland airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Auckland/Bay of Islands: After an Auckland city tour travel to the Kauri Museum in Matakohe. Continue via Whangerei to Paihia, in the heart of the Bay of Islands. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

Day 3 Bay of Islands: At leisure to enjoy some of the optional activities available, such as a Cape Reinga coach trip via Ninety Mile Beach or a spectacular scenic flight (additional expense). At leisure this evening.

Day 4 Bay of Islands/Auckland: This morning travel aboard a luxury catamaran to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock, watching for dolphins. Return to Paihia and travel south via Whangarei, calling into the Parry Kauri Park before returning to Auckland.

Day 5 Auckland/Rotorua: Travel to Glenbrook Vintage Railway for a nostalgic trip on a restored vintage steam train. Return to Glenbrook Station and travel by coach through magnificent countryside to Rotorua and visit Paradise Valley Springs Wildlife Park.

Day 6 Rotorua: Begin with a Gondola ride to Skyline Rotorua for spectacular views over breakfast. Travel to the Agrodome for an hour of farming entertainment, then to
Te Puia for an evening Maori Hangi and concert.

Day 7 Rotorua/Wellington: Drive along the Thermal Explorer Highway to spectacular Huka Falls. Continue to scenic Lake Taupo and then onwards via the Tongariro National Park to Wellington.

Day 8 Wellington: Enjoy time to explore Te Papa, New Zealand’s National Museum followed by an extensive city tour of Wellington. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 9 Wellington/Christchurch: Board the Interislander Ferry and cross Cook Strait to Picton. Join the Coastal Pacific for a spectacular rail journey.

Day 10 Christchurch: Visit the International Antarctic Centre before a city tour. The afternoon includes a journey on board the Christchurch tram at your leisure.

Day 11 Christchurch/Franz Josef: Travel aboard the TranzAlpine over massive viaducts, river valleys and gorges as you ascend to Arthur’s Pass in the Southern Alps. Drive on to Hokitika then Franz Josef for an optional scenic flight (weather permitting) over the glaciers.

Day 12 Franz Josef/Queenstown: See the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps as you travel south via the Haast Pass, an area of stunning beauty.

Day 13 Queenstown: Day at leisure. This evening board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw and cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Station for a gourmet barbecue.

Day 14 Queenstown/Milford Sound: Travel to Arrowtown and visit the Lakes District Museum. Continue via Te Anau, to Milford Sound and board the Milford Mariner for your overnight cruise. View the fiord’s spectacular waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife.

Day 15 Milford Sound/Te Anau: Head back out to the Tasman Sea (weather permitting) to see more of the fiord. Disembark for a scenic drive to Te Anau. You may like to visit the Te Anau Glowworm Caves (optional).

Day 16 Te Anau/Dunedin: Travel via Gore and Balclutha to Pukerangi to board The Taieri Gorge Limited for a journey through spectacular scenery only accessible by rail. On return to Dunedin’s historic Edwardian Railway Station your coach will transfer you to the hotel.

Day 17 Dunedin: Travel along the Otago Peninsula to Larnach Castle for a guided tour and time to wander around the garden followed by a Devonshire Tea. Return to the city for a tour followed by free time. Alternatively, you may be interested in a tour of Speights Brewery or the chance to see wildlife in their natural habitat (additional expense). Tonight enjoy a Scottish evening.

Day 18 Dunedin/Christchurch: Visit historic Olveston House before driving to Oamaru, famous for its limestone. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 19 Christchurch: The tour ends with an airport transfer.
