Tahiti Holidays

The very name Tahiti conjures up a picture of impossibly blue oceans, soft sand beaches, swaying palms and Polynesian beauties in grass skirts. Whilst mini-skirts may have replaced grass skirts the Tahitians have kept much of their old lifestyle and are some of the most gracious people you will ever meet.

Tahiti covers over two million square miles of the South Pacific Ocean and is comprised of 118 islands spread over five great archipelagos. Here, around these islands, white coral sand beaches give way to lush green interiors of rainforest and tropical gardens, while a vibrant underwater world surrounds the coral reefs and shallow lagoons.

The Society Islands are the most well-known of the Tahiti and consist of Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raitea and Taha'a.

Dubbed "Queen of the Pacific", Tahiti is the largest island and hearbeat of French Polynesia. It is appropriately crowned by a ring of majestic peaks, an interior of deep valleys and high waterfalls along with an untamed landscape of black sand beaches and tranquil lagoons. While Tahiti may be the busiest of the islands it still exudes a laid-back charm that's incredibly seductive.

The neighbouring island of Moorea, located just ten nautical miles from Tahiti, is scenically stunning and everything you imagine a South Seas island to be. Voluminous mountains rise from the translucent lagoons, while along the waterfront quaint villages and beaches await your discovery, including dramatic Opunohu Bay and Cook's Bay. Hire a car or bike and explore the lush inland interior with pineapple plantations, attractive hillsides and hiking trails. Not to be missed are the awesome views from Belvedere Lookout!

Undoubtedly, French Polynesia's most celebrated isle is Bora Bora, whose beauty is unrivalled. You will truly be in awe of the soaring rainforest covered mountain peak, valleys blossoming with hibiscus and perfect white-sand beaches which give way to emerald waters where vibrantly coloured fish animate the coral gardens. Simply said, Bora Bora is the most beautiful island in the world!
