Day 1 Colombo/Kandy: Early morning pick up from Colombo airport or your Colombo hotel to drive to the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (approx 3 hours). Continue to Kandy.
Day 2 Kandy: Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, with an amazing variety of flowers, trees and plants which was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was later expanded by the British. This afternoon a tour of the city of Kandy where many legends, traditions and folklore are lovingly kept alive. Drive around Kandy Lake, explore the local markets and this evening observe an evening pooja at the sacred 'Temple of the Tooth' followed by a cultural show.
Day 3 Nuwara Eliya: Proceed from Kandy to the cooler climes of tea country (approx 4 hours) and visit a working tea plantation and factory. Some 6,000 feet above sea level is the former colonial hill station of Nuwara Eliya whose style is pure Victoriana.
Day 4 Nuwara Eliya/Colombo: Continue via Kitulgala (approx 3 hours), the main location where "Bridge on the River Kwai" was filmed. En route pass by St Clair and Devin waterfalls. After lunch continue to Colombo city where your tour concludes (approx 5½ hours).
Departures: Daily from Colombo.

Due to en route sightseeing and the nature of the scenic, winding roads, some journeys can take several hours. If time permits an overnight stay in Colombo is recommended on day 1 before departure for Kandy. Cinnamon air taxi transfers are also recommended. This tour is not recommended directly before or after an international flight.
