Jersey Heritage

The Channel Islands Heritage Festival celebrates a group of small islands with a big history.

The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by Nazi forces during World War II. The Jersey War Tunnels are evocative reminders of this turbulent time in the islands' past. On 9th May each year, the Channel Islands celebrate Liberation Day with a variety of events, parades and entertainment.

Elizabeth Castle, which sits on a rocky islet in Jersey's St Aubin's Bay, has defended the island for more than 300 years and is the perfect place to explore the island's history. Mont Orgeuil in Gorey protected Jersey for over 600 years against French invasion and brings history to life with a network of staircases, towers and secret rooms.

You will also be able to explore museums and lighthouses, take guided walks, go on treasure hunts, cycle rides, kayak adventures and vintage bus tours plus much, much more.

Jersey Heritage Lets

Step back in time and stay somewhere with a story. All Jersey Heritage Lets properties have been given a new life, often taken from the brink of decay or collapse, and sensitively restored to provide a great home from home. Accommodation is comfortably furnished with well-equipped kitchens and modern bathrooms, while many have wood burning stoves or open fires. Due to their stunning locations and unique features, you’ll soon realise these are not your average holiday home. Some properties in more remote locations do not have WiFi access and some don’t have a television signal; however, DVD players are provided.

For those looking for real adventure, consider staying in more rustic coastal tower properties, ranging from Seymour Tower standing two miles off the east coast to quaint guardhouses which are ideal for a weekend surf trip on the rugged west coast.
