Yukon holidays in Canada

The Yukon Territory, which is set between Alaska and Canada (and administered and governed by Canada), is one of the largest and most scarcely populated areas of North America. It is also one of the last pristine wilderness areas left on earth, with a rich cultural heritage, fascinating gold rush history, legendary road trips, incredible scenery and warm hospitality.

Whitehorse, also known as the Wilderness City, is hugged by the banks of the famous Yukon River and is one of the few cities in the world to offer such rich access to untouched wilderness, yet still provide all the amenities of a modern metropolis. Best time to go

The Yukon is best visited between May and September, when the sun barely sets. The weather can be variable whatever the season but generally summer (Jun-Aug) the days can be hot and evenings cooler; autumn (Sep-Oct) temperatures begin to drop, especially at night; winter (Nov-Mar) is cold, bright and snowy, while spring (Apr-May) when temperatures start to lift and early wildflowers begin to bloom.

Flights from the UK operate via Vancouver to Whitehorse and the flying time is around 15 hours 30 minutes.
