Day 1 Las Vegas/Springdale: Leave the bright lights of Las Vegas behind and head out to Utah’s finest National Park, Zion, where massive canyon walls and red sandstone cliffs ascend toward a brilliant blue sky. Challenge yourself to what’s considered the best half day hike in the southwest by hiking a narrow ridgeline to Angels Landing. Take it easy exploring the pristine Emerald pools, enjoy a river hike deep in the narrows, weather permitting. Or, if you are feeling really adventurous, do all three!
Day 2 Springdale/Bryce Canyon National Park: A short drive today takes you to an elevation of 8000 feet into Bryce National Park. Take a stroll along the rim and marvel at the unique sandstone spires (hoodoos) that rise dramatically from the natural amphitheatre. Be sure to take the opportunity to hike down into the hoodoos for an up close and personal experience with this fascinating landscape.
Days 3-4 Bryce Canyon National Park/Moab: Visit Arches National Park home to over 2000 arches for a hike up to Delicate Arch. Enjoy walks in Canyonlands National Park where the Green River meets the Colorado River in some of the most spectacular scenery the southwest has to offer. Swap tales of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid who used the canyons to hide from the law in the late 1800s, visit the local town and enjoy Utah’s greatest adventure capital.
Day 5 Moab/Monument Valley: Head south today and wind your way through more spectacular scenery to one of the most iconic locations on the planet, Monument Valley. This incredible landscape has been the backdrop for many famous western movies and is the home to Navajo Indians. A treat today will be to hop onboard a 4x4 jeep for a Navajo guided tour of Monument Valley, with the option to have a traditional Navajo taco dinner this evening (additional expense).
Day 6 Monument Valley/Grand Canyon National Park: You have the option to visit Antelope Canyon, one of the world’s most famous slot canyons followed by a scenic walk to view Horseshoe Bend (additional expense). Enjoy a brief visit to a Navajo trading post before following the mighty Colorado River through the painted desert to the majestic Grand Canyon National Park. Options include taking a bird’s eye view from a helicopter (additional expense), strolling along the rim or, taking a hike into one of the deepest and most diverse canyons on earth. A highlight will be to admire the sunset on the rim.
Day 7 Grand Canyon National Park/Las Vegas: Get your kicks at Route 66 as you travel back to Las Vegas where the tour concludes.
