Day 1: Fly to Los Angeles. On arrival make your way to your hotel where you will meet your tour escort.
Day 2 Los Angeles/Phoenix/Scottsdale: Your journey begins and you travel through Palm Springs, the winter playground for Hollywood royalty, with its lively downtown and immaculate golf courses at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains. Continue through Indio in the Coachella Valley and onwards to Phoenix/Scottsdale.
Day 3 Phoenix/Scottsdale/Grand Canyon: Travel through the Sonoran Desert, the richest and most biologically diverse desert ecosystem in the Americas. Continue to Sedona, a city situated in a unique geological area and encircled by distinctive red rock monoliths. Drive onwards through the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon before you reach Grand Canyon National Park, one of the seven great natural wonders of the world. Stop at the rim to fully experience this mile-deep canyon’s plunging gorges and rising spires formed by the mighty Colorado River.
Day 4 Grand Canyon/Page/Lake Powell: Enter the Navajo Indian Reservation passing the trading post of Cameron. Continue through the Painted Desert and the region of Monument Valley, an area that perhaps embodies the most iconic images of the American West. In the late afternoon, enter the town of Page, situated on a mesa above the Colorado River.
Day 5 Page/Lake Powell/Bryce Canyon: Visit the mighty Glen Canyon Dam, the second highest concrete-arch dam in America. From here you’ll enjoy views of stunning Lake Powell where crystal blue water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls. Later, travel through Kanab in Utah before visiting spectacular Bryce Canyon. This evening, weather permitting, be sure to gaze upon the night sky as it fills with sparkling stars and brilliant constellations.
Day 6 Bryce Canyon/Las Vegas: Travel to Zion National Park to see the massive rock formations carved by wind, time and the Virgin River. This afternoon, experience the contrast of Las Vegas, the dazzling ‘entertainment capital of the world’, where round-the-clock shopping and gambling are served up.
Day 7 Las Vegas: At leisure. Be sure to stroll along the Strip marvelling at the mega resorts, take a ride on the High Roller or soak up the views from the Stratosphere Tower. If time allows take in a show, browse the vast array of shops and have a flutter at one of the many casinos.
Day 8 Las Vegas/Mammoth Lakes*: Stop at the iconic Las Vegas sign for the chance to capture a photographic memory of Las Vegas. Your journey continues to the quiet and extreme environment of Death Valley, where you’ll stop at Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek Ranch/Visitors Centre. Drive onwards across the valley and ascend the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes. The area gained prominence as a gold mining town in the 19th century while today, is renowned for its superior skiing terrain and staggeringly beautiful mountain vistas.
Day 9 Mammoth Lakes/Sacramento: Today’s journey brings you to the Tioga Pass and into the scenic wonderland of Yosemite National Park. Here, you will experience the valley floor and its splendours including the glacial-shaped granite formations of El Capitan, Half Dome, the magnificent Bridal Falls and Yosemite Falls. Continue on to the Californian capital, Sacramento.
Day 10 Sacramento/San Francisco: Depart early this morning for San Francisco, one of the most beloved cities in America. Embark on a comprehensive sightseeing tour before arriving at your hotel.
Day 11 San Francisco: Your tour concludes as you make your way to the airport for your onward journey.

*Between October and May, the Tioga Pass may be closed due to weather or road conditions in which case the tour overnights in Fresno or Visalia and a visit to Mammoth Lakes will not be possible.
