Day 1: Fly to Seattle. On arrival make your own way to your hotel.

Day 2 Seattle: Nestled between Elliott Bay and Lake Washington, Seattle is a captivating blend of hip sophistication, coffee culture, a flourishing arts scene and outdoor adventure. For city views, head to the Seattle Great Wheel, or ride up to the observation deck at the iconic Space Needle. Don’t miss Pike Place Market, home to the original Starbucks!

Day 3 Seattle/Olympic National Park: Collect your hire car and set off on your road trip. Enroute, you may wish to stop in Tacoma, which has a thriving dining and arts scene (177 miles).

Day 4 Olympic National Park: A day to escape into the wild at Olympic National Park whose distinct ecosystems include glacier-capped mountains, old-growth temperate rain forests and more than 70 miles of coastline. Whether you just fancy a short stroll or are looking for a more invigorating hike, there’s a trail to suit.

Day 5 Olympic National Park/Astoria: Head south along the coast towards Astoria which appears to have been plucked right out of a storybook. With Victorian-era homes etched into hills overlooking the Columbia River, this picturesque city boasts forts, museums and great local brews (150 miles).

Day 6 Astoria/Gleneden Beach: Travel along the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway south to Gleneden Beach, which is near beautiful Siletz Bay and home to incredible wildlife-viewing sites, rugged oceanside cliffs and a championship golf course. Skilled surfers may want to visit Nelscott Reef, while hikers in search of solitude should make a beeline for Cascade Head Preserve where trails wind up through old-growth forest (115 miles).

Day 7 Gleneden Beach/Eugene: Head away from the coast and drive inland to Eugene which lies along the Willamette River. Offering a dynamic mix of arts and culture, shopping and sports, whilst a hotbed for craft breweries and foodies, this is a one-stop shop for fun (114 miles).

Day 8 Eugene/Ashland: Drive further south to Ashland which nestles at the base of the Siskiyou and Cascade mountain ranges, so it’ll be no surprise that it has a reputation for great outdoor recreation (180 miles).

Day 9 Ashland: As well as a great base for exploring the great outdoors within Crater Lake National Park, Ashland is a cultural hotspot being home to the world-famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Discover also award-winning galleries, theatres and restaurants bursting from its seams.

Day 10 Ashland/Bend: Today’s drive takes you into Central Oregon to the delightful town of Bend. You’ll find all manner of watery activities available on the crystal-clear waters of the Deschutes River, and it’s also somewhere you can sip a frosted pint of your favourite craft brew (185 miles).

Day 11 Bend/Portland: Travel north east to Portland, a vibrant city known for being sustainability-minded with easy access to nature. There’s also a plentiful supply of coffee, art, craft beer, delicious food and live music (175 miles).

Day 12 Portland: Top sights in Portland include Powell’s City of Books, Forest Park, Portland Japanese Garden and Portland Saturday Market.

Day 13 Portland/Hood River: A short drive brings you to Hood River, a go-to destination for foodies, trekkers, historians and adrenaline junkies. It’s chock full of scenic hiking and mountain biking trails, craft breweries, wineries and farm-to-table bounty (62 miles).

Day 14 Hood River/Yakima: Travel onwards to Yakima which lies in Washington’s Wine Country (124 miles).

Day 15 Yakima: No matter how you decide to explore, you’re bound to find a pleasant mix of delightful craft beverages, farm fresh produce and outdoor adventure in a variety of places including Mount Ranier National Park.

Day 16 Yakima/Seattle: Return your car at the airport where your tour concludes.
