There are no sleeper cars, instead guests are transported to comfortable hotel accommodations. Day 1 Fly to Denver: On arrival make your way to your hotel.
Day 2 Denver/Glenwood Springs: Board the Rocky Mountaineer in the morning and make yourself comfortable as the train departs Denver. Meet your onboard Hosts and whilst enjoying breakfast take in the scenic views of the Gross Reservoir Dam. Later this morning, celebrate crossing the Continental Divide with a sparkling wine toast, while cutting through 6.3 miles of mountain in Moffatt Tunnel. As Hosts captivate you with stories of the region, dine on a three-course, regionally inspired lunch and this afternoon the train tours along the Colorado River through the equally picturesque Byers Canyon and Gore Canyon. Sip on a signature cocktail as you approach your overnight destination of Glenwood Springs, where you disembark and are transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 Glenwood Springs/Moab: Transfer back to the Rocky Mountaineer and leave behind beautiful Glenwood Springs, heading south west for another day of extraordinary views, venturing towards the colourful archways and amazing rock formations. Breakfast is served as you watch the morning light bounce off the magnificent Parachute Creek and Mount Logan, then as the journey continues take in the stunning red rock formations lining the cliffs in Ruby Canyon, roam past Mount Garfield and savour a signature cocktail while crossing the state line into Utah. All too soon the train reaches Moab with its incredible red sandstone backdrop. Disembark and transfer to your hotel in downtown Moab.
Day 4 Moab: This morning, enjoy a guided coach tour of Arches National Park, one of Utah's 'Mighty 5' national parks, home to over 2,000 red sandstone arches as well as an astounding variety of other geological formations. This afternoon is at leisure to explore Moab and soak up the small town hospitality at the great collection of restaurants, microbreweries, shops and galleries.
Day 5 Moab/Lake Powell: En route to Lake Powell, stop off at Monument Valley for a 4-wheel drive scenic tour that includes John Ford Point, Artist Point and the Totem Pole, while also giving an insight to Navajo culture and their traditions. This afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the shimmering waters of Lake Powell and have your cameras at the ready for the extraordinary scenery.
Day 6 Lake Powell/Bryce Canyon: Explore Grand Canyon National Park, one of the world's natural wonders, which on first sight is sure to take your breath away. There are numerous viewing points to take in the extraordinary vistas and this is sure to be a real highlight of your tour. Later, travel onwards to Bryce Canyon National Park, renowned for having the world's largest collection of hoodoos.
Day 7 Bryce Canyon/Las Vegas: Today's tour takes you to Zion National Park where you can explore the towering mountains and red canyons, with a series of both easy and challenging hikes available to admire the rugged landscapes. Continue to Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World. Take a walk along the neon-lit strip which is lined by numerous themed hotels with an amazing array of facilities, dining venues and shops.
Day 8 Las Vegas: Time for sightseeing or trying your luck in one of the casino's before making your way to the airport for your onward journey.
Departures: The rail journey has set departure dates and is available in reverse.
Accommodation: 3-4* hotels. On day 2 during the Rocky Mountaineer train journey, the hotel is assigned according to availability and will be confirmed once on board the train.
Meals: Breakfast. Lunch is also included on days 2 & 5. Dinner is also included on days 3 & 6.
