The facts:

Getting there: Ranthambore National Park is approximately 2.5 hours driving time from Jaipur; Bandhavgarh National Park’s nearest airport is Jabalpur which is around 4 hours drive away; the nearest airport to Gir National Park is Diu and the drive from there takes approximately 2 hours; Jawai Leopard Camp is a 3 hour drive from either Udaipur or Jodhpur; Periyar is around 3.5 hours.

Best time to travel: The best time to view wildlife in India is between November and April, when the weather is generally dry. Most national parks close during the monsoon season, typically from July through to September, however Periyar stays open all year round.
