Day 1 Auckland: On arrival at Auckland airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Auckland/Bay of Islands: Enjoy an Auckland city sights tour before travelling to the Kauri Museum in Matakohe. Travel via Whangerei to Paihia, situated in the heart of the beautiful Bay of Islands. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, where the treaty between Maori tribes and the British was signed. 

Day 3 Bay of Islands: At leisure to enjoy some of the optional activities available, such as a Cape Reinga coach trip via Ninety Mile Beach or a spectacular scenic flight (additional expense). At leisure this evening. 

Day 4 Bay of Islands/Auckland: Cruise aboard a luxury catamaran to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock, watching for dolphins. Return to Paihia for a picnic lunch before travelling south via Whangarei, calling into the Parry Kauri Park to see a magnificent example of a Kauri Tree. Continue to Auckland's north shore.

Day 5 Auckland/Rotorua: Travel to Glenbrook Vintage Railway for a nostalgic trip back in time on a beautifully restored vintage steam train. Return to Glenbrook Station and travel by coach through magnificent countryside to Rotorua and visit Paradise Valley Springs Wildlife Park.

Day 6 Rotorua: Today begins with a Gondola ride to Skyline Rotorua where you can enjoy spectacular views during breakfast. Travel to the Agrodome for a sheep shearing display and sheep dog trial. Travel to Te Puia and enjoy an evening Maori Hangi and concert. 

Day 7 Rotorua/Wellington: Travel along the Thermal Explorer Highway to spectacular Huka Falls. Continue to scenic Lake Taupo and then travel, via the Tongariro National Park, to Wellington.

Day 8 Wellington: Enjoy time to explore Te Papa, New Zealand's National Museum and then reboard your coach for an extensive city tour of Wellington. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 9 Wellington/Christchurch: Board the Interislander Ferry and cross Cook Strait to Picton. Join the Coastal Pacific for a spectacular rail journey to Kaikoura where you disembark and travel onwards by coach to Christchurch.

Day 10 Christchurch: Visit the International Antarctic Centre before a city tour. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 11 Christchurch/Franz Josef: Board the TranzAlpine and travel over massive viaducts, river valleys and spectacular gorges as you ascend to Arthur's Pass in the centre of the Southern Alps. Travel by coach to Hokitika before reaching Franz Josef where you may opt to join a scenic flight (optional, weather permitting) over the glaciers.

Day 12 Franz Josef/Queenstown: See the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps as you travel south via the Haast Pass, an area of stunning beauty.

Day 13 Queenstown: Day at leisure. This evening board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw and cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Station for a gourmet barbecue.

Day 14 Queenstown/Milford Sound: Travel to Arrowtown and visit the Lakes District Museum. Continue via Te Anau, to Milford Sound and board the Milford Mariner for your overnight cruise. View the fiord's spectacular waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife.

Day 15 Milford Sound/Te Anau: Head back out to the Tasman Sea (weather permitting) to explore more of the fiord. Disembark for a scenic drive to Te Anau. This afternoon cruise across Lake Te Anau to visit the Glowworm Caves.

Day 16 Te Anau/Dunedin: Travel via Gore and Balclutha to Dunedin. Board the Silver Fern Railcar for a spectacular journey. On return to Dunedin's historic Railway Station board the coach for a city tour. Tonight enjoy the Haggis Ceremony. 

Day 17 Dunedin: Travel along the Otago Peninsula to Larnach Castle for a guided tour and delightful morning tea. Return to the city for free time with the option to take the Taieri Gorge rail journey (additional expense).

Day 18 Dunedin/Christchurch: This morning visit Olveston House, a prestigious historic home. Travel to Oamaru, famous for its limestone. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 19 Christchurch: The tour ends with an airport transfer.
