Day 1-2 – Fly to Auckland
Day 3 – Auckland
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a pre-night before your tour. Explore Auckland at your own leisure.
Day 4 – Auckland
This afternoon meet your tour director and fellow travellers and explore Auckland. Choose from a range of exciting experiences including a Harbour Sailing Cruise, the All Blacks Experience, discovering movie magic at Wētā Workshop or a Bush and Beach Wilderness Adventure. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner.
Day 5 – Auckland - Bay of Islands
Cross Auckland’s Harbour Bridge and travel along the Hibiscus Coast. Visit the Kauri Museum in Matakohe to learn about the pioneering history of the Northland region. Continue to the Bay of Islands and explore the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. See the world’s largest war canoe, Ngātokimatawhaorua, and visit Te Whare Rūnanga, a Māori meeting house.
Day 6 – Bay of Islands
Enjoy a catamaran cruise to Cape Brett and the Hole in the Rock. Meander through the inner islands, admiring the sandy beaches and rocky outcrops. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 7 – Bay of Islands – Auckland
After breakfast, travel back to Auckland through Northland’s scenic landscapes. After checking into your hotel, relax before dinner with your fellow travellers.
Day 8 – Auckland - Hamilton – Rotorua
Travel south to Hamilton Gardens and discover 4,000 years of gardening history. Continue to Rotorua for an immersive evening at Te Pā Tū, featuring a traditional Māori welcome, cultural performances and a seasonal feast inspired by Māori cuisine
Day 9 – Rotorua
This morning, opt for one of several experiences, including a Rotorua sightseeing adventure, a Hobbiton Movie Set Tour, an eco-thermal exploration of Wai-O-Tapu, or a
relaxing spa experience at Wai Ariki Hot Springs. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at leisure.
Day 10 – Rotorua - Taupō – Wellington
Follow the Thermal Explorer Highway to the heart of New Zealand’s North Island this morning. Visit Huka Falls and Lake Taupō, before travelling across the plateau of Tongariro National Park to Wellington.
Day 11 – Wellington
After breakfast, set off on a sightseeing tour of Wellington’s best-loved landmarks and sights, including Mount Victoria and the waterfront area, followed by a return journey on the Wellington Cable Car for sweeping city views. The rest of the day is at leisure
Day 12 – Wellington - Interislander Ferry – Picton – Christchurch
This morning, board the Interislander ferry across Cook Strait and through the stunning Marlborough Sounds to Picton. Afterwards, journey to the quaint fishing town of Kaikōura before continuing along the central east coast all the way to Christchurch.
Day 13 – Christchurch – TransAlpine Train – Franz Josef/Waiau
Journey through the spectacular Southern Alps aboard the TranzAlpine train. Continue to Hokitika, renowned for its greenstone carving, before travelling on to Franz Josef Glacier in Westland Tai Poutini National Park. Tonight, enjoy fine dining at Te Waonui Forest Retreat.
Day 14 – Franz Josef/Waiau – Queenstown
Admire the magnificent landscape as you travel along the Haast River Valley to Queenstown. This evening you choose where to enjoy dinner with a range of dining options.
Day 15 – Queenstown
Today, embark on one of several Queenstown sightseeing options, including a Lord of the Rings safari, a 4WD adventure, wine tours and cruises.
Day 16 – Queenstown - Milford Sound/Piopiotahi - Te Anau
Journey along Milford Road into Fiordland National Park. Cruise through Milford Sound/Piopiotahi, where towering peaks, waterfalls and wildlife await, before continuing to Te Anau for a Taste of Fiordland dinner.
Day 17 – Te Anau – Dunedin
Travel through the rugged countryside of Southland to Dunedin, known as the ‘Edinburgh of the South’. This afternoon, choose to visit the historic Olveston Historic
Home, showcasing early 20th-century artefacts or explore Larnach Castle and its beautifully maintained gardens on a guided tour.
Day 18 – Dunedin - Aoraki/Mount Cook
Journey north to the Moeraki Boulders on Koekohe Beach, then continue to the Victorian town of Oamaru. Travel into Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, a dramatic landscape of towering peaks and glaciers. Choose to visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre, experience stargazing in the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, or take a boat tour for a close-up encounter with stunning icebergs.
Day 19 – Aoraki/Mount Cook - Lake Tekapo/Takapō – Christchurch
Travel to Lake Tekapo/Takapō and admire the stunning Southern Alps and turquoise lake. Visit the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd before returning to Christchurch for a farewell dinner.
Day 20 – Depart Christchurch After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
