A 15 night tour of Cambodia’s Kingdom of Wonder

Spanning nearly 11 million acres in southwest Cambodia the Cardamom Mountains are a vast mosaic of interlocking eco-systems from wildlife-rich rainforest to coastal mangroves. It's a wonderful place to get back to nature with conservation activities, treks in search of wildlife, kayaking or simply sitting back and soaking up the incredible vistas.

Formerly a stronghold for Khmer Rouge fighters, much of the Cardamom Mountains is covered in dense forest and remains largely inaccessible, however there are plenty of pockets to explore that showcase the area's biodiversity in all its glory.

One such area is Botum Sakor National Park, which is a haven for a remarkable number of species that are endangered (and in some cases extinct) elsewhere in the world, including Asian elephants, Indochinese tigers, clouded leopards, pileated gibbons, Malaysian sun bears and a small population of Siamese crocodiles.

Bursting with temples, UNESCO World Heritage sites and silky beaches, Cambodia has overcome its recent tragic past to become one of Southeast Asia’s best travel destinations.

In the captivating capital Phnom Penh, broad tree lined boulevards and ramshackle French-colonial architecture provide an attractive backdrop to the colourful markets, riverfront and roadside vendors.

For many, a highlight of any visit to Cambodia is the vast temple complex of Angkor, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Superbly preserved and visually entrancing, the vast centrepiece Angkor Wat was built to replicate the heavens on earth.
