An effortlessly sophisticated city, Singapore has a dizzying assortment of attractions packed into its characterful districts. Whether you’re looking to explore the history, tour iconic landmarks, shop round the clock or dive into the city’s famous cuisine, you’ll find a new experience waiting around every corner.

Check-out popular Chinatown, a haven for foodies, shoppers and history buffs; delve into Little India with its rainbow painted houses and Hindu temples; spend some time in hip Tiong Bahru; admire the colourful shophouses and traditional food stalls in Joo Chiat; or visit the Civic District for museums and memorials then pop into Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling.

In Marina Bay, impressive architecture, swanky hotels and glass-fronted offices dot the skyline. Soak up unobstructed 360-degree views from Sands SkyPark Observation Deck at the noteworthy Marina Bay Sands, or take a scenic spin on the Singapore Flyer. Marvel at the futuristic beauty of Gardens by the Bay or head to the waterfront Merlion Park for a view of Singapore’s unmissable icon.

Spend time at the award-winning Singapore Zoo, where animals roam freely in their natural habitats. Try the Rainforest Walking Trail at Singapore’s Botanic Garden or hop on the cable car to Sentosa Island for golden beaches, a waterpark, golf and Universal Studios Singapore.

If shopping for luxury labels or high street favourites, Orchard Road beckons. For less mass-market shopping, try out local neighbourhoods where independent boutiques, quirky art galleries and bustling markets await you.

Singapore’s rich dining scene features a mix of authentic local fare at hawker centres and slap-up meals in Chinatown to celebrity chef or Michelin-star experiences. You can also dine alfresco in lively Clarke Quay before painting the town red or chill out with a cocktail or two at an array of fabulous rooftop bars.

Perfect as a standalone destination, Singapore can also be combined with numerous Far East or Middle East options for the holiday of your dreams.

7 nts 5* Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort and Spa, Borneo Beaches

What better way to round off your Borneo adventure than with time to kick back and relax on a gorgeous beach.

Most of Borneo’s swathes of sand are clustered around Sabah and include the beaches of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Tanjung Aru Beach and Pantai Dalit Beach.

Tunku Abdul Rahman is made up of five islands, including Gaya, where the enticements include idyllic beaches, dive and snorkelling sites amongst sprawling coral reefs, along with the chance to kayak or enjoy some light jungle trekking. Tanjung Aru Beach takes its name from the casuarina or aru trees that fringe the fine sands and is renowned for its amazing sunsets, while exquisite Pantai Dalit offers private expanses of soft white sand stretching almost as far as the eye can see.

On Sarawak, Telok Bandung faces the South China Sea and has a stunning backdrop of majestic Mount Santubong as well as dense tropical rainforest.

The huge Downtown Dubai development is modern Dubai at its most futuristic and flamboyant and perfectly showcases the Emirate's desire to offer more luxury, glitz and shopping opportunities than anywhere else in the world. Set back from the sea, the area is awash with towering skyscrapers, upscale hotels, the enormous Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa. Positioned adjacent to the Jumeirah shoreline, the Pearl Jumeirah is a reclaimed island set to become an elite address along the beachfront.

Standing at over 2,716 feet and with more than 160 stories the iconic Burj Khalifa is the world's tallest building and is one of Dubai's greatest sights. There are two observation decks at level 125 and 148, the latter being the highest outdoor observation deck in the world, from where you can enjoy simply breathtaking views of the city below and desert beyond. We highly recommend booking tickets in advance as this is a very popular attraction.

The buzzing Downtown Dubai district is also home to the vast Dubai Mall, where you'll find over 1,300 shops and just about every fashion brand in the world. However, the mall is not simply a place to shop as it also has a myriad of other attractions, namely the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo; the Dubai Ice Rink; DubaiDino; KidZania®; cinemas; The Emirates A380 Experience; VR Park, Hysteria and GOAL! There are also around 200 cafes and restaurants, including various food courts and the bustling waterside terrace at the back of the mall, which overlooks the Dubai Fountain.

Set on the 30 acre Burj Lake, the Dubai Fountain features water that jets up to 450ft high and crowds gather to watch the captivating water, music and light performances each evening. It's also possible to book tickets for the Dubai Fountain Lake Ride, ensuring you have front row seats to the world's largest dancing fountain. The Dubai Fountain Boardwalk is the newest addition to the experience, which allows visitors to get even closer to the spectacle by strolling on a floating platform just 30 feet away from the fountains.

Located in the heart of the Opera District in Downtown Dubai, the iconic dhow-shaped building of Dubai Opera is the definitive destination for performing arts in Dubai. A wide variety of performances and events are hosted including theatre, opera, ballet, orchestras, concerts, fashion shows, live entertainment, galleries and art exhibitions.

Besides residences, the man-made Pearl Jumeirah also includes a unique Town Centre retail area, two open beaches, waterfront beach hotels and a promenade of just over a mile linking the development. The location affords spectacular sea views over the Arabian Gulf and the awe-inspiring Dubai skyline.
