4 nts Peace Resort Samui, Koh Samui

Deluxe Bungalow with breakfast

Koh Samui’s white sands and relaxed ambience may have boosted the island’s popularity in recent years, yet much of its sleepy charm and natural beauty remains.

Lively Chaweng is the island’s hub with an impressive beach, vibrant nightlife, great restaurants, along with street markets, boutiques and malls. Further south is Lamai, which while quieter, has dining and shopping aplenty, while on the north coast, Mae Nam and Bophut provide a more serene setting for sun-seekers. Within Bophut you’ll find Fisherman’s Village, where rustic buildings house boutique stores and trendy restaurants.

If you can drag yourself away from the sparkling ocean and silky-soft sands, attractions include the 39 foot high Big Buddha shrine which is the island's most well-known landmark; the two Na Muang Waterfalls, which are incredibly picturesque and have pools at their base to swim in; while hidden away in the hills of Koh Samui's interior is the Secret Buddha Garden. For a rewarding day out, head to the Ang Thong National Marine Park, a pristine archipelago of 42 islands in the Gulf of Thailand where along with amazing scenery and uninhabited beaches you can snorkel and dive.

When it comes to food the island has a huge array of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and local places to eat, so you can be certain that you'll never go hungry! From international favourites to local specialities; from air-conditioned chic restaurants to barefoot beach dining, Samui has all this and more.

3 nts Santhiya Resort & Spa, Koh Phangan

Deluxe room with breakfast

Situated just 9 miles off Koh Samui, the island of Koh Phangan is synonymous with its famed Full Moon Parties, which take place on Haad Rin Beach on full moon night, but there's so much more to this island. Away from Haad Rin Beach, this is a tranquil place, where you can rest under a shady coconut palm on a white sand beach and drink in the beauty that surrounds you.

Having been a haven for backpackers for many years Koh Phangan now welcomes all travellers, from couples seeking a romantic retreat to families, each tempted by the picturesque bays, swaying palms and aquamarine waters. At the island's heart is mountainous jungle, much of which has been classified as a National Park. There's also an abundance of wildlife along with 20 local dive sites highlighting the amazing underwater world of vibrant coral.

Thong Nai Pan Noi in the north east of the island is immensely beautiful with a softly curving white sand bay surrounded by mountains covered in lush tropical rainforest. Whilst our featured resorts offer a choice of dining options, there are also a small selection of bars and restaurants in the nearby small village.

If you can tear yourself away from the beach and want to see more of the island, there are several natural attractions including Phaeng Waterfall or Thaan Sadet Waterfall and Khao Ra, which is the tallest mountain on the island, where guided treks are available. Cultural places of interest include the Chinese Temple, Wat Phu Khao Noi which is the oldest temple on Koh Phangan, Jade Buddha and Wat Pho where the monks operate a traditional herbal steam sauna.

Shopping is quite limited on most of the island, the exceptions being the main town of Thong Sala and Haad Rin Beach. While most of the island has a fairly low-key nightlife, Haad Rin Beach is the exception, particularly during the Full Moon Parties, when thousands of revellers descend for this lively moonlight celebration.
