In America's gambling capital you'll be given every assistance to relieve you of your hard-earned cash, but aside from the amazing casinos Las Vegas offers incredible shopping, thrill rides and roller coasters, golf courses, world-class spas and superb nightlife. This is Glitz with a capital G!
Where better to begin than with a stroll along the fabulous Strip, a 2.5 mile section of Las Vegas Boulevard lined with flashy mega-resorts, shopping malls, restaurants and attractions. Each hotel bursts with magnificent amenities including vast casinos and is a destination unto itself, with many featuring a defining theme.
For outstanding views of the Strip, try out the High Roller ferris wheel or the Stratosphere Tower where along with the panoramic vistas at its summit, there are a quartet of terrifying thrill rides.
Helicopter flights are another option for taking in the stunning Strip views, both by day and night. Or, head further afield in a day trip to the awesome Grand Canyon or impressive Hoover Dam.
In downtown Las Vegas you'll find Fremont Street Experience, a five-block entertainment district. Along with iconic casinos, there's over 60 restaurants and shops and attractions such as live music, the Viva Vision screen featuring free light shows, the SlotZilla zip line, the Neon Museum and the fascinating Mob Museum.
Las Vegas shows are as well-known as the city itself and they definitely don't disappoint. Headliner concerts, magic shows, comedy acts, theatrical performances, you name it, the list goes on and on, whatever the time of year.
Shopping in Vegas is also legendary, with gleaming malls dotting the Strip and with a huge array of dining venues, it's unlikely you'll starve whilst in the city! From specials and buffets at practically every resort to five-star, celebrity-chef restaurants, Las Vegas is a food lover's dream.
Vast, magnificent and mesmerisingly beautiful, the Grand Canyon is easily Arizona’s most distinguishable landmark and a natural wonder that you simply have to see to believe. Seeing the sunrise or viewing the enormous expanse of the canyon at sunset are bucket list experiences, but whatever time of day you visit, there’s no place on earth that rivals these views. Step to the edge and take it all in.
Stretching 277 miles from end to end, steep rocky walls descend more than a mile to the canyon’s floor, where the wild Colorado River traces a swift course southwest. The Canyon is divided into three unique areas that each offer a distinct and unique experience: South Rim, North Rim and West Rim.
Due to its proximity to the large towns of Flagstaff and Williams, the South Rim is Grand Canyon’s most popular area. Here you’ll find Grand Canyon Village, which along with lodging and dining options, has some of the best scenic outlooks in the park, including Yavapei Point. The Visitor Centre is also found here, where you can pick up in-depth information and self-guided walking brochures or simply follow the signs to the various lookout points and prepare yourself for simply jaw dropping views. There are many activities including guided bike tours, bike hire, horseback rides, a scenic train ride and hiking, although if you prefer a shuttle transports visitors along the canyon rim, stopping at many breathtaking vantage points. Just outside the entrance to the park is Tusayan and from here helicopter rides offer incredible aerial perspectives of the canyon.
While high elevation and heavy snow keep the North Rim closed during the winter months, this less-travelled area is a more remote and relaxing place to enjoy the beauty of the canyon. Viewpoints not to be missed include Point Imperial, Cape Royal, Roosevelt Point and Bright Angel Point. There are hiking trails ranging from four to ten miles roundtrip or alternatively, mule rides are a great way to enhance your visit.
Grand Canyon West is home to the glass-bottom Skywalk, a truly modern marvel, set 4,000 feet above the Canyon floor. Owned and operated by the Hualapai Indian Tribe, Grand Canyon West provides an opportunity to connect with nature and explore from top to bottom. The highlight is the horseshoe-shaped glass Skywalk that extends 70 feet out over the rim and offers unparalleled views of one of the world’s Seven Natural Wonders.
Premier Holidays feature a fantastic selection of hotels in the Grand Canyon. Please see our brochure for details.
