Day 1 Banff/Kamloops: You will be picked up from your Banff hotel this morning and then begin your leisurely journey west towards Vancouver. The first stop is at picturesque Lake Louise where you will have a chance to photograph the turquoise waters and glacier-capped mountains. From there you cross the Continental Divide into British Columbia and make a stop to view the famous Spiral Mountains, before continuing onto the Columbia Mountains. Stop at Rogers Pass to learn about this key area in Canada’s railway history before a lunch stop at Giant Cedars boardwalk, a unique old growth rainforest in the interior of British Columbia. This afternoon you will visit the Last Spike, the historic point of completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway, then travel on to the world famous D Dutchman Dairy and farmers market in Sicamous. Arrive at your hotel in Kamloops early evening giving you ample time to refresh and explore.
Day 2 Kamloops/Vancouver: Depart Kamloops after breakfast and follow the Coquihalla Highway south, through the arid climate of the interior, climbing into the Cascade Mountain Range at Coquihalla Summit. After this you will descend into Gold Rush country, making a stop in the historic town of Hope. You then follow the Fraser River into bustling downtown Vancouver where you arrive around lunchtime, leaving the afternoon to explore Vancouver on your own.
