Day 1: Fly to Halifax. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This evening enjoy a welcome dinner to meet your fellow travellers.
Day 2 Halifax: Travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg to experience one of the best surviving examples of a planned British Colonial settlement in North America. Meet a local expert for a walking tour and visit to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic where you'll hear tales of the sea and the fishing industry's impact on the region. Later, stop in picturesque Peggy's Cove, situated on the rocky cliffs of St Margaret's Bay.
Day 3 Halifax: The day begins at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. A local expert will engage you in stories of key historical events, including the Halifax Explosion and the Titanic. Later, enjoy a guided exploration of eclectic Halifax with a visit to the local cemetery, where many of the Titanic victims were laid to rest. Continue to the Public Gardens and the bustling harbourfront before stopping at the massive Halifax Citadel. The rest of the day is free to relax or to continue sightseeing.
Day 4 Halifax/Baddeck: The first stop on today's journey is Truro, where you visit the Millbrook Cultural and Heritage Centre to learn about Mi'kmaq heritage and Glooscap legends. Learn a few words of the Mi'kmaq language and view intricate artefacts. Continue to Cape Breton Island, home to Gaelic traditions and on arrival in Baddeck, embark on a boat cruise across Bras d'Or Lake (weather permitting).
Day 5 Baddeck: Immerse yourself in a unique experience at The Gaelic College, where you will learn about the fabric milling and kilt making tradition. Travel along the Cabot Trail, one of the world's most scenic drives and keep an eye out for moose and bald eagles, as you travel past breathtaking Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
Day 6 Baddeck/Charlottetown: This morning, enjoy an insightful visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. Led by a guide, you'll uncover Alexander Graham and Mabel Bell's story through artefacts and photographs from their time together. Cross the Northumberland Strait to magical Prince Edward Island and quaint Charlottetown.
Day 7 Charlottetown: Discover Prince Edward Island with a local expert. Begin at picturesque Prince Edward Island National Park, then in Cavendish, visit the Green Gables House, the fabled house that provided inspiration for L.M. Montgomery's children's classic, 'Anne of Green Gables'. Return to Charlottetown, where the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 8 Charlottetown: A full day to explore independently or relax and appreciate the delightful city that is Charlottetown.
Day 9 Charlottetown/Saint John: Cruise the waters of Shediac Bay on board a lobster boat (weather permitting) and get a glimpse into the fascinating world of these sea creatures. Travel onwards to Hopewell Rocks and the Bay of Fundy.
Day 10 Saint John/Digby: Explore Saint John's vibrant past on a morning tour through the charming streets and along the beautiful waterfront. Board a ferry bound for Saint John's sister community of Digby.
Day 11 Digby: Begin your day with a whale watching cruise (weather permitting) on the Bay of Fundy. Journey to the historic town of Annapolis Royal and with a costumed interpreter, stroll through the centuries of one of Canada's oldest thoroughfares and walk along the boardwalk bordering the historic Annapolis River. Discover a cultural mosaic of history in this former capital of Acadia and Nova Scotia.
Day 12 Digby/Halifax: Your tour concludes as you return to Halifax airport for your onward journey
