Day 1: Fly to Vancouver. On arrival make your own way to your hotel.

Day 2 Vancouver/Kamloops: Depart Vancouver on the Rocky Mountaineer, enjoying the changes in scenery from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons to the desert-like environment of the British Columbia interior. On arrival in Kamloops you are transferred to your hotel.

Day 3 Kamloops/Jasper: Morning transfer back to the Rocky Mountaineer and your rail adventure continues north and east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Pyramid Falls and the climb over Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Disembark and transfer to your hotel.

Day 4 Jasper: Jasper National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Canadian Rockies’ largest national park. Enjoy a scenic half day tour of some of the park’s natural attractions and rugged peaks, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the wildlife that calls this region home. The remainder of the day is free to explore Jasper on your own.

Day 5 Jasper/Banff: Travel to Banff via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. A stop is made at Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield where you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Afterwards, a brief stop is made at Bow Lake before travelling on to Banff.

Day 6 Banff/Lake Louise: A half day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders, including the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. The tour ends in picturesque Lake Louise where the remainder of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 7 Lake Louise/Calgary: Enjoy a full day tour beginning in Banff whose highlights include Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner, the Hoodoos and Banff Gondola. Continue on to Kananaskis for a 12 minute panoramic helicopter tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Continue to Calgary.

Day 8 Calgary: The tour concludes as you make your own way to the airport for your onward journey.
