Mount Kinabalu Climb

Mount Kinabalu1 night

Day 1 Kota Kinabalu/Mount Kinabalu: After a morning transfer from your hotel, embark on the demanding climb up the magnificent Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain between the Himalayas and Snow Mountains of New Guinea Island. The ascent takes you up through Upper Montane Forest which graduates to sparse vegetation due to the higher altitude and harsher environment. Keep your eyes peeled for various birds and wildlife as you breathe in the fresh air along with the cooling breeze of this extraordinary environment. Stop for a packed lunch along the trail before continuing to Laban Rata, located 11,000ft above sea level, where your very basic overnight resthouse accommodation is sited.

Day 2 Mount Kinabalu/Kota Kinabalu: Depart in the very early hours and continue the trek to Low’s Peak summit (13,455ft), where if the weather permits, you can witness the glorious sunrise and some unforgettable views - it’s an aweinspiring experience. Soon after, begin the slow trek back and after a late breakfast you will be transferred back to your Kota Kinabalu hotel and reflect on this exhilarating climb, which is sure to stay in your memory for years to come.
