Getting there: There are no direct flights to Kota Kinabalu from the UK, most travel via either Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Hong Kong, which takes approximately 16 hours.

Best time to travel: With an equatorial climate, Borneo enjoys sunshine all year round although rainfall can occur at any time. March to October are considered the best months to travel.
