The facts:

Getting there: From Vancouver the drive to Kamloops takes around 3 hours 30 minutes, or alternatively the Rocky Mountaineer train follows this route before heading onto the Rockies. Clearwater is around 4 hours 45 minutes drive from Vancouver and Kelowna is approximately 4 hours drive.

Best time to travel: Seasons here are more pronounced than on the coast. Summers tend to be warmer and drier, while winters are colder but with far less precipitations.
