The smallest of the seven Emirates, Ajman lies on the west coast just north of Dubai. Its coastline is rimmed with luxury hotels, each with their own private stretch of uncrowded white sands, making Ajman a perfect destination for a relaxing beach break. Watersports are plentiful, with stand up paddleboards, windsurfing, jet skiing and banana boat rides all on offer. The bustling waterfront promenade, known as the Corniche, is a popular place to stroll or stop for a bite to eat at one of the numerous cafes and restaurants. It’s especially lively at the weekend, when events take place and locals gather for picnics and barbecues.

Best time to go
Ajman is a year-round destination as sunshine is virtually guaranteed whatever the month. Between December to February temperatures average in the mid-20sºC, rising up into the 30s from March to April and again from October to November. While the scorching temperatures between May-September may be too much for some (usually in excess of 40ºC), it’s one of the few destinations when it’s cheaper to visit during our school summer holidays, whether travelling with children or not.

Flights from the UK to Dubai take around 7 hours, it’s then a 30-45 minute drive to Ajman.
