If you're looking for bright lights and a multitude of shops, bars and restaurants, then give Herm a miss. On the other hand, if you want peace, tranquillity and stunning natural beauty, then this peaceful oasis fits the bill. The island only has one hotel, one pub, one church, one farm and a couple of shops, but it does have an abundance of unspoilt beaches, sandy cliff paths, local pods of dolphins and Europe's most southerly puffin colony. Ideal for families and everyone wanting an escape like no other.
Herm, Sark and Alderney make for a fantastic short break with April to October arguably being the best time to go.
No visa needed.
Travel to Guernsey by sea or air and then take a commute by ferry to Herm (20 minutes). The boats moor just a short walk from the White House Hotel.
