La Digue boasts beautiful beaches, a relaxed island atmosphere and an authentic taste of local life. Surrounded by coral reefs, turquoise waters, lush jungle and dramatic granite boulders, it is a true tropical paradise. Most visitors arrive at La Passe, where bicycles are the ideal way to explore the island, which has few roads and almost no cars. Highlights include Anse Severe, Anse Patates and the iconic Anse Source D’Argent. Grand Anse is the island’s largest beach, although swimming is not recommended. Away from the coast, explore L’Union Estate or the Veuve Reserve, home to the rare black paradise flycatcher
Generally the considered best times to visit are March/April or October/November as the weather is most settled. June to September, though usually dry, can be very windy.
