Known for its cool crisp temperatures and lush, picturesque landscapes of varying green shades, the Cameron Highlands are a quintessentially British corner of Malaysia, where the ritual of afternoon tea is still observed and colonial history echoes all around.
The stunning scenery encompasses emerald tea plantations stretching as far as the eye can see, strawberry farms, beautiful orchards, intricate temples and a cluster of towns and villages.
Take time to tour the tea factories, pop into Tudor-style inns, explore gardens and farms or step out amidst the nature by following various hiking trails that wind through jungle and mossy forest, up gentle slopes and past cascading waterfalls. Other attractions include the Time Tunnel Museum, a golf course and the popular weekend...
The region enjoys a cool climate and fresh air, with temperatures fluctuating between 22-25ºC during the day and 15-22ºC at night. Rain is common throughout the year although more frequent from November-February.
Cameron Highlands can only be reached by road. Journey time from Kuala Lumpur is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes while from Penang it will take approximately 4 hours.
