Marlborough sits within New Zealand's sunniest region, summers are usually warm and settled, whilst the winter months can be cool.
The Interislander Ferry sails the Cook Strait between Wellington and Picton. Blenheim is the main town in the region and a 30-minute drive from Picton. Blenheim also has an airport and the flight from Wellington takes around 20 minutes. The Coastal Pacific train runs between Picton and Christchurch, via Kaikoura.
