Redang Island, which belongs to a small Malaysian archipelago of nine islands within Terengganu state, lies within protected marine waters known as Terengganu Marine Park.Along with its enticing palm-fringed beaches the amazing coral reefs beneath the crystal clear waters attract diving enthusiasts. The marine life is plentiful and you may see black tip reef sharks, turtles, cuttlefish and schools of colourful fish darting about. You may even see whale sharks and manta rays. Snorkelling is also possible from the beach or also within the Marine Park, where you can snorkel around a wreck and see some bigger fish and sometimes even a turtle.

Best time to go
Weather tends to be sunny and hot throughout the year although March to October is considered the best time to visit. Between November and February the north east monsoon kicks in and heavy rain does occur.
